Morpeth Town have completed the signing of Adam Burnicle from Shildon.

Striker Burnicle, who has blistering pace and a direct style of play, caused The Highwaymen no end of problems during a 1-1 draw at Shildon, his former side, towards the tail end of last season. Spells at Willington, South Shields, Tow Law and West Auckland preceded his most recent stint at Shildon where he featured nearly 60 times, scoring 25 goals. The 29-year-old has agreed to join and bolster our attacking options ahead of the new campaign.

“Nick (Gray, Morpeth manager) sold the idea to me within 10 minutes of speaking with him,” said Burnicle after signing for the club.

“Morpeth is a great club and Nick is a great manager, plus it gives me an opportunity to play at a higher level and help the club move forward.

“It was an easy choice for me, especially after hearing the ambitions here and the direction the club wants to go in.

“All the travelling is just another challenge but also a good experience as we will be playing against new teams and going to new grounds.”
