THIS month’s charity partner is a cause incredibly close to the hearts and minds of everyone at Morpeth Town as it involves one of our own.
Ben Wickens and his family was part of our Under-eight set-up this season until he was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia on New Years Day.
The family have gone through a huge shock but have been helped hugely by Gareth Williams from Newcastle United Foundation, who has been on the Cancer Ward with patients.
But during this incredibly difficult time, the family have been able to stay within minutes of Ben’s ward thanks to the support and care of the Sick Children’s Trust and, more specifically, Crawford House.
“This facility has been a God-send and has allowed us to support Ben 24/7,” said Ben’s father Mark.
“This charity has supported and continues to support our family through this difficult period and is a lifeline to all families with sick children at the RVI.”
We encourage all our supporters both at home and further afield to contribute to this worthwhile cause.

Crawford House are there during the darkest of times for those who need someone to rely on.
A worthy cause for sure, Morpeth fans will do their bit to help.
We stand with you Ben. Stay strong.
