THE isolation that comes with Osteosarcoma cannot be underestimated.
A cruel and aggressive bone cancer, it enforced awful isolation on 11-year-old Henry, hence the creation of Henry Dancer Days.
A charity formed after a family discovered how financially tough it was living with cancer – the parents couldn’t work as they needed to care for Henry – they now hand out grants to families in the same position.
Henry Dancer Days has now been developed by the 400+ young people they support: paying for things such as IPads and pamper days to washing machines, car repairs and winter gas bills.
The aim of Henry Dancer Days is to put a smile on the faces of children who need a little joy or a “treat” at a time when money is tight for their families, who are often unable to work due to the care their kids need.
