Game Notes

Morpeth Town have been made to wait a further four days to open up their Northern League campaign for the 2016/17 season.

The Highwaymen progressed through to the Preliminary round of the FA Cup after they beat Seaham Red Star 3-1 last Saturday in the season curtain raiser.

Paul Robinson, who opened the scoring, made his first start since making his move from Blyth Spartans permanent, while Damen Mullen also appeared since signing from the Evo-Stick side.

Liam Henderson started the game and Matias Fondato came on as a substitute late on as they both made their first appearance in the FA Cup victory.

Newcastle Benfield are the first opponents of the league campaign, they opened up their season on Wednesday night with a 1-1 draw with Penrith.
