The club are delighted to announce that a Sunderland XI will come to Craik Park to play a pre-season friendly in July.
Morpeth begin their pre-season on 8 July when they face Berwick Rangers at Shielfield Park, and the game with the Black Cats will take place on Friday, 14 July.
It is likely to be a youthful side that Sunderland put out, but joint manager Nick Gray is pleased to have added further competition to the schedule.
“We are delighted to welcome Sunderland to Craik Park, this will massively enhance the lads’ pre-season schedule,” he said.
Elsewhere, the Blyth AFC friendly will now be played on Thursday, 20 July.
