Morpeth Town will be looking to extend their unbeaten run to nine games this evening as they host Consett A.F.C. in the Second Round of the Brooks Mileson League Cup.

Town have not been in action since the 5-4 win over West Didsbury and Chorlton in the FA Vase, but face a foe they have played already this year, beating Consett 5-2 at Belle Vue.

Nick Gray has a full squad to choose from other than long term absentee Christopher Jewels and full-back Shaun Henderson.

cafcbadgeThe Opposition

Consett currently sit 6th in the EBAC Northern League Division One, winning four out of five since the Highwaymen turned them over in the league. The strike trio of Michael MacKay, Luke Sullivan and summer signing Michael Sweet are amongst the leagues best. They also have one of the better goalkeepers in the league in former Blyth Spartans stopper Peter Jeffries.

Off the field, as well as on it, Consett are building a product worthy of acknowledgement, led by Chairman Frank Bell, with an excellent stadium, and first class people running the show, things are looking up for Consett.

Players to Watch

Michael Sweet and Michael MacKay have scored a combined 30 goals so far this term. At least one of them has scored in 16 out of 22 games this season, and when neither of them has found the net they are yet to win.
