Morpeth Town return to action following an enforced break with a home game against Team Northumbria at Craik Park (3pm). Following a tight 2-1 win at Team North earlier in the campaign, The Highwaymen know they have their work cut out when the university-based side travel to Northumberland.

SNAPSHOT PREVIEW
FORM: Morpeth bounced back to winning ways in their last outing at Bishop Auckland, a game which saw another red card for the Highwaymen. Discipline will need to be improved to beat Team North as Town seek to rebuild a formidable home record which has seen them lose only one league game all season at Craik Park.

Team Northumbria are in less convincing form of late; a mid-table team with up and down results highlighting a lack of consistency. Their run of three away games – two losses and one victory – most recently only brings focus to their frustrating form on the road which has yielded wins in a third of their Division One away days. They’ve only won two of their last seven on their travels, with a 3-1 humbling at struggling Washington a low point. A 3-0 defeat at fellow strugglers Penrith paints a grim picture for the travelling Team North support.
LAST GAME: Following a rare blank Saturday, Morpeth last played at Heritage Park in a game against Bishop Auckland. With 10 men at the interval, following Keith Graydon’s dismissal, Morpeth turned on the style with a superb second half performance to win 3-1. Two from Sean Taylor and Stephen Elliott’s second goal in two games ensured a late Luke Sullivan penalty was a mere consolation for the hosts.

Team Northumbria were in action on Monday night when welcoming Marske United to the campus stadium. After a solid enough first half for the hosts, title-chasing Marske raced through the gears to secure a 4-1 win which inched them closer to Morpeth at the summit.
