Morpeth Town are looking forward to their first fixture of 2018 and a second trip to Sunderland RCA.

Following the abandoned clash at Meadow Park – due to fog – the hosts are offering half price tickets to all fans. That means it’s £3 for adults, £2 concessions and it is free for children accompanied by an adult.

SNAPSHOT PREVIEW

FORM: Sunderland RCA’s form is far from spectacular of late with two wins, two draws and two defeats in their previous six. But home form is a strength, with six victories in 11 games and only two lost in the league. A mid-table team in terms of results and league position, Town were winning 2-0 in the original fixture before the match was abandoned by the officials.

Morpeth haven’t played since Boxing Day, a break of 11 days ahead of the game at Sunderland. Top scorers away from home, with 35, The Highwaymen moved past the 60-point mark with victory in their most recent away day at Ashington. They’ve scored 20 goals in their last six league games on the road, with an average of over three per game.

LAST GAME: Sunderland were beaten on a Friday night under the lights when travelling to Stockton Town. A 2-0 reverse came despite plenty of chances in the first half. But a late second half break away goal ensured the three points stayed in Stockton.

A Jordan Fry hat-trick in the first half at Ashington, coupled with a Joe Walton effort, meant Town went in 4-0 ahead during their Boxing Day clash at Woodhorn Lane. Ashington reduced the deficit from the penalty spot but it didn’t stop Morpeth winning 4-1.

ONE TO WATCH: Nathan O’Neill has 13 league goals this season, a statistic that cannot be ignored as Morpeth seek a priceless clean-sheet on their travels.
