A hat-trick for corners from Ben Sayer helped Morpeth Town to come from 2-0 down to record a sixth successive win in the EBAC Northern League.

Consett took an early two goal lead through Luke Sullivan and former Highwaymen Jordan Nellis, but a header by Mark Davison from a Sayer corner brought Town back into the game before the break.

Chris Reid then equalised before Davison again nodded home from a corner, before a swift counter attack saw Joe Walton convert a tap in.

There was still time remaining for Consett’s Michael Sweet to see red for a hideous challenge on Reid which resulted in a second booking for the former Billingham Synthonia man.

The result sees the Highwaymen move up to 3rd in the EBAC Northern League Division One, with eight games remaining.
