Morpeth have had mixed fortunes in recent seasons when they have faced the Bonny Blues at Frenchfield Stadium.

In the two games that were played in Cumbria in the 2016-17 season, Jim Nichols’ side triumphed in both. The pair are set to meet in the Highwaymen’s first away game in October.

Striker Martyn Coleman netted a hat-trick during a 3-0 win for Penrith in the Northern League game last September. Morpeth then lost 4-2 on penalties, after the sides finished 1-1 in normal time in the Second Round of the Northern League Cup in December.

Nick Gray and Dave Malone’s side did manage to get their own back at Craik Park when Ben Sayer, Michael Hall and Liam Henderson netted during a comfortable 3-0 win back in April.

The largest margin of victory for either side was by five goals, this was on two separate occasions. The Bonny Blues won 5-0 back in 2009 at home, and 6-1 at Craik Park in 2013.

Morpeth edge the overall record with eight victories during their 19 meetings, the sides have drawn on five occasions and Penrith have won six games.
