Morpeth Town continued their title challenge with a comfortable 3-0 win over Whitley Bay at Craik Park on Wednesday evening, but the game was overshadowed by a serious leg injury to Bay’s Jonny Godsmark,

Ben Sayer opened the scoring after just 29 seconds before the Godsmark injury, with Sean Taylor adding a second before the half. Substitute Dale Pearson sealed the victory with a late third as the Highwaymen closed the gap on Shildon and Marske United with a fourth straight league victory.
