The club would like to thank everyone associated with Morpeth Town for their efforts so far this season.
Currently, the NPL Premier Division is suspended following the outbreak of Coronavirus, with no date mooted for a potential return. The Highwaymen fully understand and respect the reasoning behind the decision, with chairman Ken Beattie thankful for everyone’s efforts this campaign.
“We wish to thank all of our supporters, helpers and sponsors for everything you have given us this season,” the chairman told the club website.
“It is obviously with great disappointment that our league has decided to postpone all matches until further notice, particularly when the team was playing so well, being unbeaten in 10 matches; winning eight and drawing two.
“We, however, understand perfectly the league’s position and that they had no choice. The health and welfare of all concerned is of far greater importance. Obviously, we are all in unchartered waters at the moment and we are, as everyone, unsure as to what the near future holds as far as playing matches is concerned. We will keep you all posted as issues develop.”
