Goalkeepers

Dan Langley

The 6ft 7ins stopper joined at the beginning of the 2024/25 campaign and has been an ever-present in the side. The former Newcastle United ‘keeper won the 1884 Club Player of the Season in his debut year.

Mason Brown

Mason joined the club’s academy after impressing with our Under 18s and has now progressed into the first team squad.

Defenders

Rhys Evans

A regular at right-back and brings a wealth of experience with over 100 games at National League North level, Rhys is a huge part of the squad on and off the pitch.

Nathan Buddle

Having played for an array of reputable north east clubs, Nathan has been settled with the Highwaymen since the beginning of the 2024/25 campaign and brings experience at the heart of our defence.

Josh King

Part of the York City squad that was promoted to the National league, Josh has then gone from strength to strength with the Highwaymen since a move in 2022.

Jeff Henderson

Club captain, a class act and a FAI Cup winner in Ireland. Jeff reached the 250 appearance mark last year and provides valuable experience and ability and has done since 2018.

Josh Robson

Started out at Sunderland and plied his trade at Norwegian sides Notodden and Byrne, Josh found his way to Morpeth not too long after a short spell at Blyth Spartans. Our vice-captain and a highly respected member of the squad.

Joel Holvey

Part of our 2025 summer recruitment, Joel arrived following his departure from Blyth Spartans. Our left-back came through the Rotherham United ranks and had a loan spell at Gainsborough Trinity.

Dan Myers

Dan had an instant impact after arriving at the end of the 2025 summer, after leaving Spennymoor Town. He won the 1884 Player of the Month award for August following some classy displays at centre half.

Liam Miller

After serious knee injuries, Liam is working his way back to play for the Highwaymen again in the 2025/26 campaign. The former Sunderland and Scotland youth player has been seen at Bishop Auckland and Gainsborough Town since.

Midfielders

Danny Barlow

The creative midfielder joined from Blyth Spartans in 2023 and has been pulling the strings since. After suffering an unfortunate arm injury in pre-season, we’ll have to wait until New Year to see him in action again.

Jordan Hickey

Jordan started off his youth career at Sunderland and then moved into the Hull City youth system. He unfortunately suffered a long-term injury towards the end of the 2024/25 seasons and we look forward to welcoming him back in 2026.

Will Dowling

A product of the Morpeth Town academy, he started in Sunderland’s junior teams. Will signed a first senior contract in 2024 and is a mainstay in the middle of the park.

Matty Griggs

Coming through the Morpeth Town Academy, Matty was rewarded with a first contract in 2025 after loan spells at Whitley Bay and Blyth Spartans. He’s now a regular in the first-team squad.

Billy Gordon

The energetic youngster came through at York City and then had a spell at Blyth Spartans. Armed with National League North experience, he continues to develop with the Highwaymen.

Ryan Chater

Progression through the club’s Academy saw Ryan rewarded with a first contract in the summer of 2025. He’s quickly integrating with the first team squad and showing the ability he has.

Dom Dos Santos Martins

Dom arrived early into the 2025/26 season following his departure from Luton Town after relocating to the north east. The Portuguese midfielder brings flair and energy to our midfield.

Forwards

Nic Bollado

A fan favourite and a player with immense ability. Nic started in the north west with Carlisle United and Stockport County before joining the Highwaymen in 2023.

Sam Hodgson

After three previous spells and over 30 goals, Sam made the permanent switch to Craik Park in 2025 from Blyth Spartans. A natural number nine with energy and clinical instincts.

Luke James

Luke has immense Football League experience with the likes of Peterborough United, Bradford City and Barrow, and it shows. With a first touch as good as any and a terrific footballing brain, he brings a lot to the side.

Aaron Chungh

Aaron came in after leaving Sunderland in the 2025 summer and has shown the ability he has very early on. A direct winger with pace is at the start of his footballing journey.

Craig Lynch
Manager

Craig previously managed Seaham Red Star before leaving the club during the previous campaign. His playing career took him to Sunderland, Rochdale, Hartlepool, Spennymoor Town and Blyth Spartans.

Jacob has been around the first team for a number of years while his dad, Gateshead goalkeeping coach and former Highwaymen GK coach, was with us. A popular character in the dressing room.
