Playing career?
Started out at Hartlepool, went on loan to Bury and Rochdale. I left Hartlepool and went to Gateshead, Blyth Spartans, Harrogate Town, Bayswater City in Australia, Blyth Spartans, Shildon, Blyth Spartans and Morpeth.

Favourite moment of your playing career?
Banging a free-kick into the top corner on BBC One, live in front of 2.5million.

Who was your playing hero?
Playing hero? Paul Scholes

Who was the best player you played with?
Thomas Butler or James Brown. Or actually, can I pick four? James Brown, Thomas Butler, Robbie Dale or a Columbian lad I played with in Australia called Gustavo Marulanda. One of that four.

Who is better, you or your brother Phil?
Difficult one. I think he has had the better career. On our days, we are very, very similar. My dad always said I was better technically, but he tried harder. He has had the better career but I’d say I had the better moments in a career.
