Morpeth Town pair Sam Hodgson and Will Jenkins were delighted to extend their stays at Craik Park until the end of the season.

The Highwaymen moved quickly to secure the South Shields loanees until May 7th after excellent starts to the campaign, with Hodgson leading the goal charts on 12 and Will Jenkins impressing in the middle of midfield with 10 assists to his name by the midway point.

Both were happy to put pen to paper on new deals and continue to be part of a squad currently four unbeaten and looking ahead positively, with the play-off spots on the horizon.

“I am just wanting to build on the first half of the season,” said striker Hodgson.

“I feel as though, as a team, we have the ability to push on and upset a few teams above us to get into the play-off places.

“I’ve got a few personal targets that I set at the start of the season and feel as though I’ve made a strong start to that.

“I want to achieve that here and repay the faith the gaffer and the staff have in me.

“It’s also a top notch set of lads that have made me feel welcome from minute one.”

Jenkins has made great progress in that number four role, driving the team on and providing the impetus for goals across the pitch.

“I am happy to be staying for the remainder of the season,” said Jenkins.

“I am enjoying playing regularly at this level and feel I’m improving with each game.

“We’ve got a great set of lads here and I’m looking forward to second half of the season and hopefully it being a positive one.”
