Middlesbrough youngster Fenton John is sure he’ll rise to the challenge after joining Morpeth Town on an initial 28-day loan.

The attack-minded player has made the switch to Craik Park in time for today’s clash with Radcliffe and goes straight into the squad on the bench.

“I want to play as many minutes as possible, contribute to the team by scoring goals and creating assists and help the club win as many games as possible,” he said.

“It will be a physical test in men’s football in comparison to the academy stuff so hopefully it will toughen me up on the physical side and not just technically.”

Morpeth boss Craig Lynch was delighted to secure the Boro player for the month and is sure he will progress during his time in Northumberland.

“He’s an energetic, attacking player who has a bright future in the game. He likes to get on the ball, is technical and will help us for this month after Connor Pani was recalled,” he said.

“It’ll be a good challenge for him and one I’m sure he’s going to relish. We look forward to seeing him develop here, especially after the progress made by the other loanees we’ve had this season in Ryan Wombwell and Connor.”
