Morpeth receive club and manager of the month awards

Morpeth Town were presented with their club and manager of the month awards during the win over Gresley.

Highlighting the superb start to the season, the Highwaymen have stormed to the top of the table and grasped the early initiative in the promotion race, leaving chairman Ken Beattie a happy man as he collected the club of the month award before handing the prize of manager of the month to Nick Gray.

“We’re delighted with the start to the league season as we sit seven points clear at the top of Evo-Stik East,” said Beattie.

“It is great credit to the players and management team that we sit where we are. However we know we are nowhere near where the season is decided and there is a long way to go. But if we can maintain this form, we will be a hard team to overcome.”
