The Highwaymen will make the short trip to Boldon Colliery on the last Saturday in August to face a Jarrow Roofing outfit who finished 13th in Division One last term.

Nick Gray and Dave Malone’s men did the double over Mark Colingwood and Richie McLoughlin’s Roofers in two games of complete contrast.

On their last visit to the Boldon Sports Ground, Morpeth edged a nine-goal-thriller in October, 5-4, thanks to two goals each from Steve Anderson and Sean Taylor and one from Chris Reid.

The return fixture at Craik Park in November was much more comfortable for the Highwaymen, they won 4-0 with goals from Anderson, Reid, Michael Chilton and Ben Sayer .

Roofers manager Colingwood has been busy over the summer so far, going back to his old side Seaham Red Star to bring in highly-rated goalkeeper Shaun Newbrook and midfielder David Palmer to strengthen his squad.

The overall record between the two sides stands at 18 Morpeth wins five draws and eight Roofing wins. The Highwaymen have won four successive away games against the Roofers since 2013.
