Morpeth Town are delighted to welcome Shabz Mohammed and Marcus Giles to Craik Park.

The pair come highly-rated, with the former looking to continue in adult football after a season at Stockton Town, while the latter joins after a spell at New Hartley earlier in his career. The Highwaymen’s website caught up with the duo to get their reaction.

NAME: Marcus Giles

AGE: 18

FORMER CLUBS: New Hartley

I’m very pleased to be joining Morpeth Town and to have the opportunity to play in a team packed with experienced players at a high level. What convinced me to sign was the standard of the club, as in the level they play at and the facilities on offer, such as the great pitch. I also had a few talks with Ken (Beattie, chairman) and Nick (Gray, manager) and they both made me feel welcome. I will bring youth, pace and power which will cause a threat and give a different dynamic up front if Plan A isn’t working.

NAME: Shabz Mohammed

AGE: 19

FORMER CLUBS: Stockton Town, Carlisle United Under-19s

I’NL: England Under-18 Schoolboys

When I heard Nick (Gray, manager) was interested in me, I was happy to take the opportunity and sign as Morpeth are a club on the rise as they won the league last season and will continue doing well. The facilities and the set-up are amazing and I’m looking forward to getting started. Last season was my first playing adult football and I really enjoyed it. I thought it went very well and I’m looking forward to carrying it on at Craik Park.
