Note: We face Brighouse Town (A) in the FA Cup Preliminary Round on August 24th.
Morpeth Town manager Nick Gray is relishing the chance to face Warrington Town in the first game of the BetVictor Premier Division, after the fixtures were released this week.
The Highwaymen face an exciting first month, with Warrington on the horizon; a side who narrowly missed out on promotion last season. They then welcome Lancaster City in the first home game of the campaign, before a trip to Brighouse Town in the FA Cup Preliminary Round. Bank Holiday Monday sees us take a trip to the seaside and Whitby Town before another away game, this time at FC United of Manchester.
Despite a tricky start on paper, Gray is very much ready for the challenge.
“I’m really looking forward to the season,” the Morpeth boss told the Highwaymen website.
“The first game of the season is a great example of how tough the league will be, but we can’t wait to get started. Every game is going to be tough in this division and we step into the unknown once again, but I’ve got huge confidence in the squad of players we have.”
