Morpeth Town is pleased to announce the signing of striker Nic Bollado after his release from Stockport County.

The forward goes straight into contention for tonight’s clash with Blyth Town in the Newcastle Flooring Senior Cup after the relevant submitted paperwork was approved.

Bollado has played at Craik Park before, as part of an FC United team that beat the Highwaymen 4-1 earlier in the campaign.

After starting out at Carlisle United, and progressing through their academy, the north east native moved to Stockport before joining FC United on loan this season.

Joining Morpeth, the 19-year-old is keen to get first team football under his belt and help the team climb the Pitching In NPL Premier Division.

“I wasn’t enjoying my football where I was,” said Bollado.

“I had spoken to the gaffer (Craig Lynch) about coming to training during pre-season so when the opportunity came about again I was more than happy to come on a permanent basis.

“I know how big of a club Morpeth is in the north east and I just wanted to come in and get to work to hopefully push us up the league.

“It was my first taste of men’s football as such, bar games there and then, at FC United so it is good experience and it becomes more normal as I’m amongst it every week.”

As for that 4-1 win for FC United at Craik Park earlier in the season, we’ll let him off!

“I’d much prefer it was me winning at home in the future!”
