Morpeth Town head into Saturday’s FA Cup Preliminary Round clash with Marske United in high spirits following Tuesday night’s victory at home to Brighouse Town.
Earning their first three points at Evo-Stik East level, The Highwaymen raced through the gears, while offering a glimpse of what they can do.
Although a big crowd at Craik Park were able to enjoy a home league win, attention now turns to the FA Cup where Town – after beating Goole AFC in the Extra Preliminary Round – face an old adversary.
“It’s a big game in our season and one we are keen to win,” said chairman Ken Beattie.
“It was certainly an entertaining fixture the last time we played Marske at Craik Park, with Morpeth winning 3-2 and Joe Walton scoring a wonder goal which went all over the internet.
“We’re expecting a tough game from Marske, who are a very good side, but I’ve got every faith in the lads to get the result we need. I’m hoping to see a big crowd at the ground on Saturday to see a cracking game between two excellent sides.
“The attendance was brilliant on Tuesday night and we hope for more of the same on Saturday.”
Prices for the match are £6 adults, £4 concessions and kids go free.
